Cordless phones interfere with wireless LANs

Cordless phones with "spread spectrum technology" can switch frequencies within the 2.4Ghz communication band and basically kill your wireless LAN. Here is a page that says as much.

It sounds like even changing the broadcast channel of the wireless router isn't guaranteed to keep the phone from stomping on your data. Only eliminating the phone will work.
